How To Implement A Fire Escape Plan

All families need a fire escape plan so if there is a fire you will be prepared and you will know what to do and how to stay alive. Schools teach kids how to make an escape plan and what to do when there is smoke in the house. Schools have to teach them that and the parent have to, too. Parents must sit down with your kids and show them what to do and where to go and meet outside. Put the plan on a sheet or a board and go over it everyday so your kids can memorize it and also so they don't forget what to do. Have them know every exit of your home, what way to get to them, and tell them to put something over their nose and mouth so they can breathe.

If you have a baby or little kids in your home, have the older children or the adults know if they are close to the baby, little kids, or their room to get them and get out as fast as you can because they will not understand or they will have no idea what is going on. Have a fire drill every week to see how fast they can get out and to make sure they know what to do in a fire. Did you know families that have no fire escape plan can suffer by injuries or die because they did not know what to do in a fire? A fire escape plan is the biggest key for survival and make sure your family knows the plan.

Make sure you have some fire and smoke alarm in your house so you will know when there is a fire or when there is smoke. If you don't have them, then you will need to get them to protect your family. Don't overlook them. It helps you get out of your home before the fire builds up and gets out of control. You will need to have different type of plans for different types of fire so your family can get out alive and unharmed. Make sure you check the batteries every month and test them to make sure they are working and they are operating right because sometimes they can malfunction. So it is every important that you do this because you want to keep your family safe from fire that can happen in your home.
