Fire Safety When Cooking And Smoking

If you are cooking, you need to watch what you are doing because when smoke gets in the air, it can stain the walls and the ceiling. It also can start a fire if you do not keep an eye on it because it can get out of control.

It doesn't matter whether it is a big fire or a small fire because a small fire can even do a lot of damage, and it can be very severe damage at that. If the fire is small, you can try to get it out by using a fire extinguisher, baking soda, and water, but don't use water on a fire that is on the stove because it can cause an electrical fire, which will make an even bigger fire due to the sparks that can shoot out of it. Don't leave oil unwatched because it will splatter and cause the burners to catch on fire. It does not matter if you get the oil from a bottle or from the meat because it will still splatter when it gets really hot. You will need to have it on low or medium so it will not splatter out of the pan.

If you smoke, you need to watch what you are doing because it can cause a fire to start in your home. Don't fall asleep with a cigarette because it can fall on the floor or lay on your bed and start it on fire. You can get burned or your room can set on fire and spread through the whole house and take everything that you have away from you. It can spread in a matter of minutes and if it is a building, it will take about an hour or two depending on the size. A whole building can even take less than that to burn down.

Make sure you put out the butt before you go or fall asleep, and make sure the cigarette butt does not fall out of the ashtray. Do not put the ashes in the trash when you put it out because it will still be hot and it will melt the plastic and cause a fire to form. Also, don't put hot oil in the trash either. You have to let it cool down before you do that by letting it set for an hour or two so it won't cause damage. The best way you will not cause a fire in your house when you smoke is to smoke outside. Plus it is good because there will be no smoke in your house that someone can inhale.
